Is it possible to be an ambassador if I am involved in other organizations on campus?
Yes! Many of our ambassadors are involved with other clubs or teams on campus in addition to their academic classes. It is possible to balance ambassadors with the rest of your responsibilities as long as you are good at time management. There are two types of Student Ambassadors, this change was brought to the program in order to best accommodate people's schedules. There are Special Engagement Ambassadors whose duties strictly fall on certain weekends, this is best for people who are too busy during the week. There are also Daily Tour Ambassadors, whose duties fall mainly on weekdays which is best for those who work or go home on the weekends.
Will I receive training on giving tours before I have to actually take out a perspective family?
Yes, the Executive Board will host a training day and go over everything you will need to know to be prepared for open houses and tours. Additionally, newly hired ambassadors will have the opportunity to shadow returning ambassadors on real tours.
Is the Ambassador Program volunteer?
No, there is a small scholarship that is received after one full semester of being an ambassador and remaining in good standing.
What kind of students does the interview panel look for during interviews?
During the interviews students that have strong resumes, are involved, have high GPAs, outstanding communication and time management skills, and are enthused about the program are the ones that stand out and are usually hired as ambassadors.
